Anambra State governor, Willie Obiano, has reiterated his commitment to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), saying he has no plans to dump the party.
Obiano was reacting to persistent speculations in the social and traditional media, as well as continued call from citizens of the state and other stakeholders, wanting to confirm the veracity of the rumour that he may dump APGA for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“As the Leader and Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of APGA, I am at present focused to make the party a truly national party by building on its gains not only in Anambra State but across the country,” he said.
Obiano said in addition to building the party, he was concentrating on his mandate as governor of Anambra State by focusing on the best ways to enable the state gets out of challenges sparked by national economic downturn.
“I appeal to APGA faithfuls across the country and in the Diaspora to disregard such rumours, as APGA is poised to not only retain its leadership position in Anambra State, but also extend the gains and inroads it has been making in other states in and outside the South East,” he stated.
