Some leaders of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party PDP said yesterday that the crises within the ruling APC was not surprising.
They, however, warned that the APC should not use it as another excuse to fail in delivering on its campaign promises to Nigerians.
Speaking with Daily Trust in a telephone interview yesterday, a former minister and Nigeria’s Ambassador to Germany, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, said: “I am not surprised because the APC was brought together by circumstances not by any commitment of developing the nation for the benefit of the common man.
“It was just to grab power and that is why Nigerians are suffering now. That is why Nigerians are yearning for the PDP. That is why the PDP is putting its house together. We are not really concerned about the crisis in the APC; we want the ruling party to put in concrete effort to end the current economic recession. They have no excuses,” he said.
Similarly, a deputy national chairman and member of the Senator Ali Modu Sheriff-led National Working Committee (NWC), Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, told our correspondent that the crisis within the APC was expected.
“You can see the similarity between the APC and the PDP – it is all about impunity. Party members who have money believe their will must be done because they financed the party.  However, the disagreement in the APC is part of democracy; it is how they manage it that matters. So, the APC and the PDP must be firm,” he said.
