The League of Imams and Alfas in Ogun State has said governments at all levels must pay attention to the education and capacity building of the populace for the country to get better.
It also urged governments to demonstrate the genuine capacity and readiness to secure the lives and property of the citizens.
Particularly, the body of Islamic leaders urged the federal government to show genuine interest to change the ugly narratives in the nation’s tertiary education system and honour all contractual agreements without further delay.
The league stated this in a statement jointly signed by its President General, Dhikrullahi Afe-Babalola and the Secretary-General, Tajudeen Mustapha, respectively on the state of the nation. The clerics advised the federal government to lead the way toward revitalising the tertiary education in the country and repositioning it to its rightful status.
