She made this statement at the just concluded three-day course entitled Islamic Finance MasterClass (IFMC).
Dr. Ziyaad Mohammad, founder and CEO of Islamic Finance Institute of Southern Africa (IFISA) and Dr. Sulaiman Harwai of the Department of Business Administration, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, were among the resource persons at the event.
Some of the topics discussed were, Introduction to Islamic Economics and Finance, Islamic Finance and Investment Techniques, Structuring Islamic Banking Products, Reviewing Contracts and Supporting Contracts in Shariah, among others.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, Mr. Ahmed Muazu said, “the sessions have been very informative which is what we were lacking initially. We had wrong perceptions about how the system really operates but have a better understanding of it and the contracts and terms involved.”
