Isco goal sends Real into Champions League final

Real Madrid withstood a valiant display from neighbours Atletico to reach the Champions League final as Isco’s away goal three minutes before the interval at the Vicente Calderon took the sting out of a second-leg fightback.

Diego Simeone’s side were rewarded for their bright start after Saul Niguez’s near post header from Koke’s corner gave them the lead on the night to reduce the deficit to two goals after 12 minutes. 

And Atletico blew the last-four encounter wide open as Antoine Griezmann’s penalty four minutes later after Fernando Torres had been upended by Raphael Varane left them needing just one goal to level the tie.
