The race for the vacant Bauchi South Senatorial District seat is fast gaining momentum as former governor, Mallam Isah Yuguda officially declared to join the race.
He declared his intention to contest for the seat at a meeting of Green Party of Nigeria (GPN) in Bauchi over the weekend.
Yuguda at a briefing with journalists said that he decided to join the race to heed the calls of his supporters.
He said he wanted to contest for the seat in order to continue serving his people and provide more dividends of democracy to the people of the constituency.
It could be recalled that, Yuguda had earlier contested for the Bauchi South Senatorial District seat on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP).
He however lost to late Senator Ali Wakili of the then opposition All Progressives Congress ( APC).
Wakili died early this year making the seat vacant.
At least, 30 aspirants from different political parties are now aspiring for the seat.
The ruling APC has the highest number of aspirants which include it’s state legal adviser, Barrister Lawal Ibrahim.
Other opposition political parties including the PDP, NNPP and others also have aspirants for the vacant senate seat position.
