Ireti Kingibe commissions road in FCT community

The senator representing the FCT, Hajiya Ireti Kingibe has commissioned the Karu-Ishan Road in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in Abuja as part of her constituency projects.

Speaking at the inauguration on Saturday in Abuja, Kingibe said, “I have come to work for you, and I need your cooperation, support, and trust to succeed.”

She also urged the youths to visit her website and look at her development programme and get involved in it because sometimes she might call on them to clean up Abuja, and sometimes it might be a neighbourhood watch for certain programmes, and that she is only just getting started.

She said, “Youths and women are the bedrock of this country. I have 100 slots for empowerment for Karu youths and women. 50 for youths and 50 for women because some of the empowerment opportunities are not many.”

Senator Kingibe explained that in every budget, there are zonal intervention projects for each senator for his/her constituency, and this was one of the projects that were part of her zonal intervention programmes.

“I must say that when I came, people tried to coax me that oh, let’s do as we used to do, share the money, and I said, no, everything that’s budgeted for in that zonal intervention projects will be done, and this was one of them.

“The road was awarded to the contractor and completed within four months because when I awarded the contract, I insisted that all the projects must be done within short periods of time, and here we are for commissioning the 6 Km Road”.

When asked about the absence of FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, Senator Kingibe said the minister was busy with another assignment.
