Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has blamed the current petrol scarcity in the country on inability of its members to get the products at Lagos depots and jetties despite paying for it.
At a meeting summoned to address the fuel scarcity in the country the president of IPMAN, Elder Chinedu Okoronkwo urged the federal government to intervene on its members’ behalf in procuring petrol from private and government operated depots.
He noted that some dealers were yet to obtain products four months after payments have been made at some of the depots.
Elder Okoronkwo who spoke to journalists at the end of IPMAN Central Working Committee meeting in Abuja yesterday said it was critical that products are made available to his members to ensure that scarcity of the fuel is avoided.
