Invincible Insurance stake unbeaten run against 3SC

Bendel Insurance will once again stake their unbeaten run in the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) abridged season this weekend when they host 3SC in MatchDay 17 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

The ‘Benin Arsenals’ are the surprise team of the season as they are the only side yet to taste defeat in the current season.

When they kicked off their campaign with an away win at former champions, Akwa United, many felt it was a fluke but the NPFL returnees who are in the same group with heavyweights like Enyimba, Akwa United and Plateau United, went on to record more away victories that have put them on top of Group A with 32 points after 16 matches.

Invincible Insurance stake unbeaten run against 3SC

Although their two remaining matches are against experienced clubs,3SC and Nasarawa United, there is nothing to suggest Insurance would lose their invincibility because they have an envious away record.

After the opening day win at Akwa United, Insurance picked two additional away victories at Kwara United (1-0) in week three and 1-0 at El-Kanemi Warriors in week five.

They also recorded five away draws at 3SC, Enyimba, Plateau United, Remo Stars and Gombe United.

However, Insurance also dropped points at home when Gombe United forced them to a 0-0 draw in week six before their 1-1 draw with Akwa United and another 1-1 draw with Kwara United in week 13.

Therefore, all eyes will be on visiting 3SC this weekend as they have the opportunity to end the unbeaten run of their perennial rivals in the NPFL.
