Financial technology company Interswitch has donated new Information Technology (IT) equipment to the Lagos State University (LASU) to enhance the teaching and learning of technology-related courses.
Equipment donated included three high-end firewalls, two CISCO switches and one router.
The donation was made by representatives of the company at the office of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello.
Interswitch’s Head of Enterprise Architecture, Patrick Okebu, who led the team noted that the donation of the equipment was to encourage students studying courses such as computer science, engineering, and other technology courses to practicalise the theories they are taught. “LASU is one of the 10 tertiary institutions in Nigeria where we are donating equipment,” he said.
The vice chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi, on behalf of the institution thanked Interswitch for the donation, promising that the equipment would be put to good use.
