Some youths arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Osogbo, Osun State at the weekend over alleged internet scam have insisted that they were students, not criminals.
The suspects were arrested by EFCC operatives during a raid on their abode in Osogbo.
The anti-graft body said it recovered 12 cars which included three Toyota Highlander SUVs, one Mercedes Benz GLK 350 SUV, One Acura SUV, two Honda Crosstour, two Toyota Venza and three other Toyota brands from the suspects.
The commission also recovered phones, laptops and other devices from them.
A top operative of the commission, while confirming the arrest, said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
But the suspects maintained that they were students and not criminals, though, they didn’t disclose the names of their schools.
