The Integrated Dairies Limited (IDL) in collaboration with Sahel Consulting has provided water for Chiri Community in Ganawuri District of Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The community, known for a high volume of milk generation from their cows, is patronized by dairy-producing companies like IDL, but has been having challenges with a good water source for their domestic use as well as for the feeding of their cattle, thereby affecting milk output.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, IDL Divisional Head of Agric Businesses, Paul Sini, said the provision of water would go a long way in helping the community and uplifting their lives because water is life.

“Their milk-production viability and our patronage have kept them in good business, and have also made the men to get more involved in the milk extraction business.
“But their major challenge has been a good source of drinking water for themselves and their cows. And in order to solve the problem and boost their milk yields for better and more sustainable patronage, IDL and Sahel Consulting has constructed this borehole for them,” he said.
In his remarks, one of the community leaders, Yahaya Ahmadu, said they were happy with the project, noting that they will reciprocate the gesture by taking good care of the borehole.
