Insurgency: COAS pledges more support for troops

The Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru has promised to address the challenges facing troops fighting the Boko Haram insurgency in the North East.

Attahiru made the promise yesterday when he visited the Army Headquarters of Sector 2 Operation Lafiya Dole in Damaturu.

He commended the troops for their gallant effort in fighting the insurgents under operation “Tura Takai Bango”.

He disclosed that the essence of the visit was to meet the soldiers and ensure the challenges they were facing in the course of conducting their operations were addressed.

He said: “I am very pleased, your commanders have told me what you have done collectively as part of “Operation Tura Takai Bango”,  how you have pushed the Boko Haram insurgents, we are so proud of you, and I believe in the second phase of that operation, you will do more.

“So, ensure you go out there and push them so hard and bring this entire insurgency to an end, be rest assured that all your challenges, I have catalogued, I will address all the problems”.
