Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has called on the North East Development Commission (NEDC) to reconstruct Yobe State College of Agriculture Gujba and the state polytechnic in Geidam which were destroyed by Boko Haram fighters.
Buni, who was represented by his Deputy Idi Barde Gubana, made this call when the chairman and members of the newly constituted Governing Council of the commission paid him a courtesy visit at Government House Damaturu.
He lamented the activities of Boko Haram at the College of Agriculture Science and Technology Gujba as the worst humanitarian crisis in recent times, where over 100 students were slaughtered, buildings and utility vehicles destroyed by Boko Haram.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman Governing Board Major Gen Paul Tarfa (rtd) said they were in the state for a familiarization tour to assess the completed and ongoing projects as well as receive the demands of the people in the state.
