The Air Council under the Chairmanship of the Honourable Minister of Defence has directed the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar to join the Chief of Army Staff in the Northeast to coordinate Nigerian Air Force operations.
The spokesman of the minister, Colonel Tukur Gusau, in a statement on Tuesday, said the Council sat today and deliberated on general issues concerning the Nigerian Air Force especially its operational roles in support of various operations across the country and welfare of its personnel.
He said the Council also said the Chief of the Air Staff was also directed to reorganise air operations in support of operations LAFIYA DOLE in the North East and SHARAN DAJI in Zamfara State.
The Air Council also approved promotion of well deserved senior Air Force officers to their next higher ranks, Gusau stated.
