The Chief Executive Officer of the Jos Electricity Distribution Company, Alhaji Ishaq Usman, disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Jos.

 He said presently the four states in the zone get 68MW out of the 2000MW of the current national generation against their total demand of 327MW which leads to load shedding and inadequate supply of electricity to the four states.

  He said vandalisation of gas pipelines at certain locations in the country and the planned gas line maintenance has affected their efforts to provide stable electricity to consumers”

 The Chief Executive Officer lamented that 260,000 registered customers in the four states owe the company over N8bn and appealed to them to settle their outstanding bills to enable the company improve on its efforts to provide electricity.

Alhaji Ishaq reiterated the commitment of the PHCN to improve on the situation especially the generation capacity of electricity supply in order to satisfy the needs of customers because the present power supply in the states is inadequate and a challenge.
