Institute inducts 400 members, charges them on business growth

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) has inducted 400 new members.

The president and chairman of the Governing Council of the institute, Olusegun Mojeed, at the 44th induction in Lagos, reiterated that human resources held the ace in solving the challenges of the Nigerian economy.

He said human resource remained the best profession despite the worrisome state of Nigeria’s economy.

He, however, charged the new members to provide pragmatic solutions towards the challenges of their respective organisations.

Mojeed said, “Human resource professionals and business leaders all over the world are faced with daily unprecedented contexts and situations requiring new learning and approaches.

“We live in very uncertain times. However, I bring you good news. Rather than give in to volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity, I encourage you to embrace vision, understanding, clarity and agility. We must always be prepared for the next wave of change.”

The past president of the institute, Dr Oladimeji Alo (FCIPM), who was also the guest speaker at the induction ceremony, while speaking on the theme: “Value Creation through Human Capital Development,” noted that human resource personnel could make businesses thrive by supporting them to move through stages of growth.
