The National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Students says it has disqualified 50 students out of the 151 who applied for its various post-graduate programmes.

The Director-General of the institute, Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman, who disclosed this in Abuja during matriculation ceremony for the admitted 101 students, premised the development upon ‘stringent admission requirements’ for their disqualification.

“This year’s matriculation is particularly special because for the first time, the ceremony is being conducted in an abridged form via electronic platform. This should not come as a surprise as the country, nay the world, is still cautious about gathering of people in view of the challenges COVID-19 pandemic continues to pose.

“With the above background, I wish to proceed by congratulating our 2019/2020 fresh students for scaling through the stringent admission requirements for the various postgraduate programmes. About 151 applied for consideration into the various programmes but only 101 who are matriculating today succeeded,” he said.
