Operatives of the Kebbi State Police Command have arrested and detained an Inspector, Nura Ahmad, for allegedly killing a 20-year-old man on the Zamare-Yauri road in Yauri LGA.
The spokesman of the command, SP Nafi’u Abubakar, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, said the inspector was attached to the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Base 18, Zamfara State, and was on a stop-and-search duty when he shot the man.
Abubakar said, “While on duty, he was confronted by one Ahmad Ibrahim (20) of Yauri town. As a result, the said inspector shot him on his chest and he was rushed to the General Hospital, Yauri, where a medical doctor confirmed him dead.”
He added that, “The command is using this medium to condole the immediate family, friends and well-wishers of late Ahmad Ibrahim and prays for his soul to have eternal rest.” (NAN).
