The Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide has advocated the establishment of a National Youth Development Commission as part of efforts to stem insecurity.

The council’s National President, Barrister Hassan Aare Oladotun, made the call in Abuja when he paid a courtesy call on Sarduana Matasan Arewa, Chief Samuel Bukat.

Oladotun said a bill seeking to establish the commission had been prepared and would soon be presented to the National Assembly for consideration.

He said the proposed commission was to empower Nigerian youths and give them a voice in governance.

Oladotun said the council has also prepared another bill seeking to mandate the federal government to allocate not less than 35% of the national budget to the education sector.
