The pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, Sunday asked President Muhammadu Buhari to recall retired military and police officers to tackle the worsening insecurity in the country.
It said since the efforts of the government had not yielded the desired results, it was incumbent upon Buhari to call on retired military personnel for help.

Afenifere’s national publicity secretary, Jare Ajayi in a statement, challenged the president to translate his vow to “clean up the mess in Nigeria into reality.”
He said having been the Head of State and the fact that he contested for the presidency before winning the fourth time, Buhari should do far better than what Nigerians had got so far from his administration.
“The level of insecurity was compounded by the unprecedented high cost of living, collapse of social welfare, malfunctioning infrastructure, high level of unemployment, crime and hopelessness.
“Those to be recalled should include the retired soldiers, police and security officers of various hues. State police should also be allowed forthwith.”
