Following the incessant attacks by suspected kidnappers in some villages of Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State, vigilantes and youths of the area have vowed to participate in the fight against them.
Eleven villagers including children were reportedly killed in a Sunday evening attack in Pinau community of Wase LGA.
Shapi’i Sambo, a youth leader of the LGA told our correspondent that they had resolved to take the action to rid the area of bad elements.
He said: “It is a difficult decision but there is no alternative to that. They have one soul and we have one too. Whoever dies will not return.
“It is high time we took this hard decision. These people are not ready to allow us to sleep. Look at the kind of money they always ask as ransom.
“There is no excuse to allow these criminals to continue terrorising us. We are villagers. What have we done wrong to deserve this kind of treatment from them? Enough of this.”
He further explained that cooperating with security personnel to fight kidnapping and all other criminal activities to free the communities was the only way out, calling on youths across the country to do same.
