The Special Task Force known as Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) has trained 165 members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau.
The members of the taskforce were trained to help with security information gathering around the Riyom general area.

In his speech at the passing out ceremony of the trainees at the Riyom Township Stadium, the Commander, Operation Safe Haven, Major General Ibrahim Ali, said the security of the communities required continuous collaboration and support of the people.
He said the timely sharing of information with security agencies was key to ensuring the peace and security of the communities.
The commander, who was represented by the Deputy Commander, DCP Mohammad Rabiu, reminded the trainees of the oath of allegiance they took, adding that they should be more vigilant and impartial in the discharge of their duties.
Earlier, in his welcome remarks, the Commander of Sector 6 Riyom, Colonel Hassan Gwani, said the trainees were drawn from various communities, cutting across religious and ethnic backgrounds.
He said, “The trained vigilantes are to work with the security agencies in monitoring the activities of criminal elements and reporting accordingly.”
In his vote of thanks, the Atta Aten of Ganawuri, His Royal Highness, Da Yakubu Chaiman, pledged the continued support of community leaders and the people of Riyom to the troops of Operation Safe Haven.
He expressed optimism in the capacity of the troops to secure the people when given the necessary support.
