The Nigeria Airforce (NAF) has reactivated three of its L39ZA fighter jets under its life extension programme to boost its operations in North West and Eastern parts of the country.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Abubakar Sadiq while supervising the ground running in Kano said the aircraft shall be deployed to Katsina, Zamfara and Kaduna states to check insecurity.
According to him, this is the second time in five years the Air Force is re-activating such planes, adding that “we are committed to securing the country.”
Revealing that 200 personnel are in nine countries undergoing trainings on aircraft maintenance, he said that some are maintained locally while others involved using parent manufacturing countries.
