Jos Peace Vanguard (JPV), a non-governmental organisation has engaged youths from different groups including primary and secondary schools students on the need to shy away from any form of criminality.

The youths, who included those, who have admitted to being involved in crime but have repented, were drawn from various communities of Jos North LGA of the state.

The Chairman of the group, Malam Nura Alhassan, said sensitising the youths especially those already engaged in crime would not only end criminality but go a long way in eradicating bad behaviour in the society.

A youth leader from the Cabon Central Community, Sylvanus Boniface, said the event was timely as the country was facing lots of security challenges that needed to be addressed immediately.

One of the repentant youths, Abdullahi Isa, commended the organisers.

“JPV had turned me into a complete human being. I was engaged in different criminal activities but today, with the efforts of the group, I have returned to the society mingling with people who categorised us as bad people. I am now married. I call on all those who are still in crime to desist and be responsible.”
