The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has presented over N22m cheques to the families of fallen heroes of the Nigeria Police.
Speaking at the event, the IGP, represented by the Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, Bartholomew N. Onyeka, said the cheques were presented to the families of police officers who served the nation gallantly before their death.

He said the IGP gave the money following the realisation of the plight of families of his men who died in active service and had shown laudable commitment to ensuring that they got what was due to them without delay.
The police boss noted that the sacrifices of their breadwinners couldn’t be quantified, and advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the money to address their needs and other challenges.
Also speaking, Mr Nankin Njin, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked the IGP for valuing the sacrifices of their loved ones.
