The Islamic Research and Da’awah Foundation (IRDF) Abuja on Friday held a special prayer for the nation to overcome the rising insecurity and other socio-economic challenges confronting the country.
Speaking during the event, the founder and chairman of the foundation and the Chief Imam of Apo Legislative Quarters Jumuah Mosque, Sheik Muhammad Nuru Khalid, said the country is literarily in a state of war and that using the blessings of the glorious month of Ramadan to seek Allah’s intervention over the escalating situation in the country was one of the avenues to resolve the situation.

According to him, it is the responsibility of the leaders and the led to ensure the success, progress and wellbeing of the society and the citizenry.
“Everyone has to play their part and it is the collective efforts that can change the situation that we found ourselves and make the country better,” Khalid said.
He, however, urged the government to play its part by using the trust of the office to better the lots of the people so that the society can be better and the people be able to play their parts to support the government.
Also, the Secretary, youth wing of the mosque and foundation, Aminu Ibrahim, said that the prayer was organised so that the opportunity of the blessed of Ramadan can also be utilised to seek Allah’s intervention in resolving the nation’s challenges.
