Insecurity: Army holds town hall meeting

The Nigerian Army has organized a town hall meeting in Niger State as part of efforts towards involving civilians in the war against bandits and other criminal elements in the state.

The meeting, held at the Emir of Kagara’s  Palace in Rafi Local Government Area, was spearheaded by the 31 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army.

It was attended by opinion leaders, traditional title holders and other members of the Kagara emirates and environs.

“The town hall meeting is meant to have a heart-to-heart discussion with all stakeholders on the security situation bedeviling  the areas and address it,” Brigadier-General Gideon Temitokpe, Commandant, 31 Artillery Brigade, explained.

He urged  people to always relate well with the security agents in their domain as they were there to protect them and secure their property.

The guest speaker at the event, Mohammed Mohammed, attributed the involvement of youths in criminal activities to politicians.
