The Kaduna State High Court 8 has adjourned to February 9, 2022 hearing of a suit filed before it against Vision FM Kaduna and its General Manager, Umar Farouk, over alleged infringement of fundamental human rights of one Yakubu Lere.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the court proceeding, counsel to Vision FM and Umar Farouk, Nurudden Yakubu, said the case is about infringement of human rights filed before the court by the applicant, Yakubu Lere against the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police.

He said the police filed their response on the last adjourned date but the applicant and his lawyer were absent at the court.

“The matter was adjourned for 14th December 2021 to allow the police to move their motion for extension of time,” he said.

“The applicant is seeking the court to stop investigating him which is his fundamental human right and the court has the constitutional right to investigate an alleged crime where there is reasonable suspicion,” the lawyer said.
