Sources from Kano, where the victim’s family resides, revealed that the kidnappers had since contacted them and a ransom of the sum N500,000 was said to have been paid.

The victim, who has been under the custody of the kidnappers since Friday, was yet to regain his freedom despite the payment of the ransom.

All effort to hear from Jigawa state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr. Mahmood Isa, proved futile as the REC did not pick the call placed to him neither reply a text message as at the time of filling this report.

Contacted, the state Police Commissioner, Bala Zama Senchi, said he was yet to receive any report to that regard.
