Eight members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State that were duly nominated as candidates of the party in the March 2015 National Assembly elections have called on INEC to respect the judgment of the Supreme Court in the matter and issue them certificate of return.
The eight members are: Emmanuel Nweke, Benedict Obaze, Anthony Offiah, charles Odedo, Princess Ifeyinwa Anazonwu, Mrs Uchenna Obi, Dr. Ejike Nwene and Julius Oforma.
Addressing a press conference in Abuja, weekend, spokesperson of the group, Anthony Offiah, said the Supreme Court judgment of January 29, 2016, upheld the decision of the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt, which waded into the leadership tussle presently before the National Judicial Council (NJC).‎
Offiah said: “Let me remind the chairman of INEC that Nigerians are watching and it is important for us to remind ourselves about the mantle of this government, which is its change mantra, the level of impunity that seems to be rearing its head must be nipped in the bud immediately.”
