INEC sensitises Osun women on peaceful election

Speaking at a sensitization workshop organised for women on peaceful election in Osun State, the Resident Electoral Commissioner said women as either individuals or groups have a critical role to play in the consolidation of peace in the electoral process for the positive outcome of the process.
The theme of the workshop which took place at Leisure Spring Hotel, Osogbo was “Towards the Conduct of a Peaceful Osun Governorship Election”.
The programme was sponsored by Democratic Governance for development(DGD), Project, United Nations Development Programme with the support of European Union (EU), Department for International Development UKaid, Department for foreign Trade and Development, Canada.
The Project Director of DGD, Dr Mourtada Deme who was represented by National Gender Expert, Hajiya Mufuliat Fijabi, noted that participated of women in electoral process is very significant and also admonished women in Osun state to contribute positively and purposefully to the peaceful conduct  the forthcoming election in Osun State.
Agbaje noted that “apart from providing motherly care and family support to the members of their families, women also among others have the responsibility to inculcate good manner and morals on their children”.
