INEC seeks monarchs’ support on PVC, says 400,000 uncollected in Kano

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has sought the support of traditional rulers across the country to mobilise Nigerians to collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC).

INEC’s Kano State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Risqua Shehu, made the appeal yesterday when he received the Oba Yoruba (leader) in the state on a courtesy call.

Shehu, who was represented by Alhaji Garba Lawal, the commission’s Administrative Secretary, said there were over 400,000 PVCs that were yet to be collected in the state.

“By the end of October when the new PVCs would have been printed, Kano will be having about one million PVCs to be collected,” he added.
