INEC and security agencies say they are ready for today’s governorship and state assembly elections in Yobe State.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ahmad Makama and Commissioner of Police, Abdulmaliki Sunmonu, stated this yesterday at a joint press briefing in Damaturu.
The REC said all sensitive materials for the 17 local government areas had been transported to registration centres under the guard of armed security operatives.

The police commissioner said the command in conjunction with other security agencies had deployed 4000 personnel for the elections.
