The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Benue state has rescheduled the governorship and house of assembly elections in three council wards in the state.
The affected areas include Mbalom in Gwer East LGA, Yandev North in Gboko LGA and Manger II in Tarka LGA respectively.
INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner in Benue state, Nentawe Yilwatda, announced the postponement of elections in the affected areas at a press conference in Makurdi.
Yilwatda said there were burning of electoral materials at Mbalom while the commission’s ad-hoc staff were held hostage in the other two council wards.
