The chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmoud Yakubu has hinted that, the Commission may deploy technology for electronic voting during elections in Anambra governorship election in 2021.
He gave the hint when he appeared for Budget defence before the House of Representatives committee on INEC on Wednesday.

He said that although the decision has not been reached, but about 40 companies have demonstrated their capabilities in e-voting which may be utilised in future elections.
“They have demonstrated. The next stage is for the commission to decide. So, its too early to tell you the cost or when the process will be concluded.
” But we’re determined were going to deploy electronic voting machines, or electronic ballot machines in elections, possibly in Anambra Governorship elections next year,” he said.
