The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Edo State has disclosed that the elections into Esan Central, Esan West and Igueben federal constituencies which were postponed on February 25, would be held this Saturday along with the House of Assembly polls.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Obo Efanga, disclosed this yesterday during the distribution of sensitive materials for the 18 LGAS of the state.
He explained that the elections into the federal constituencies could not be held on February 25, due to hitches.
He said, “Today (yesterday) is 15th of March; we are here at the CBN to distribute the sensitive materials, specifically the ballot papers and the results sheets, to the local government areas ahead of Saturday’s House of Assembly elections.”
He noted that the commission had reviewed all that happened in the last elections and had perfected plans to ensure that this Saturday’s elections were more successful.
