The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in charge of Bayelsa State, Pastor Tom Udoh, says that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has distributed over 80% of the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in the state ahead of next week’s presidential and National Assembly elections.
Udoh, disclosed this on Tuesday, while speaking with newsmen in Yenagoa shortly after resumption of duty as the new INEC boss in the state.
He expressed satisfaction with the rate of PVCs collection in the state, stressing that the commission will ensure that the remaining PVCs are distributed before deadline.
On the challenging terrain in Bayelsa State, the REC said that the commission was currently negotiating with boats owners association to engage their services during the election, disclosing that over 300 boats will be hired by the commission for the transportation of officials and logistics to the riverine hinterlands.
