The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Tuesday, swore-in a new Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) from Osun State, Dr Tella Adeniran Rahmon and immediately deployed him to serve in Ekiti State.
The INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, while swearing in the new REC, said he would be responsible for managing the resources and personnel in the state of his deployment.

Responding, the new REC, Dr Rahmon, pledged to carry out the ordinances of the commission and uphold the tenets of his appointment.
Meanwhile, Prof. Yakubu has told journalists that the commission stood by the Akwa Ibom State REC, Mr Mike Igini, over an allegation that he was planning to rig the elections in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State.
He said that the REC himself had responded and that in his discussions with him on Monday, Igini told him that he had also asked his lawyers to initiate legal action against the person that made the statement.
Daily Trust reports that the Chairman of the APC Media Campaign Council, Mr John Mayaki, and Col. David Imuse, had accused Igini of receiving a bribe from the PDP to swing the polls in its favour.
Igini, however, denied any plot with the PDP in Edo State to rig the forthcoming governorship election.
