Indian hemp dealers nabbed fighting over customers in Ogun

Operatives of the Ogun State Security Network (Amotekun) have arrested seven Indian hemp sellers while fighting over customers in Ogun State.

The Amotekun Commander, David Akinremi, said the suspects were members of the Eiye and Aiye cult groups.

He said, “They are Alimi Raimi, Ayotunde Onakoya, Ogunmade Seun, Ayodele Oreoluwakintan, Taofeek Shita-bay, Ibikunle Gbengas and Ebiruga Oluwaseun.

Akinremi explained that the suspects were arrested in connection with a case of conspiracy and cultism.

He said one of the suspects, Ebiruga Oluwaseun, reported to operatives of the corps in Ijebu North East Local Government Area (LGA) that the first suspect, Alimi Raimi, and one Ola, alias Ebony, threatened to kill him.

According to him, the death threat was over a supremacy rivalry as they were all “members of a drug syndicate dealing in weeds suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit drugs.”

Akinremi said the rift between them began after Oluwaseun claimed seniority in the drug business, accusing the first two suspects of snatching his customers; a development which led to a free-for-all that attracted the attention of the corps.

The Amotekun boss explained that all the suspects were arrested at different locations in the town.

He added that, “Items recovered from them include a UTC axe, cutlasses and charms.”
