The Managing Director of Tulip Cocoa Processing Ltd, Otumba Simon Jerat, has expressed optimism that cocoa farmers will surmount the crisis in the global cocoa market if their production increases over the dwindling prices of products from the produce.
Jerat who spoke in Ikom in Central Cross River State over the weekend, during the 2017 end of year premium party, said in order to achieve such feat, cocoa farmers should avail themselves of the continuous training programmes offered by the company to update them on best practices and management of cocoa farming.
He advised the farmers to be proactive in adopting new strategies to enhance productivity.
He also disclosed that they have built and handed over six classroom blocks, situated in two cocoa producing communities of Bendeghe Ekiem in Etung Local Government Area and Osokom in Boki Local Government Area in the Cross River North.
