Founder of a social enterprise platform, Coralworker.com, Chinenye Ogbonnaya has urged all employers of domestic workers to increase their wages so that it would enable them to cope with the harsh economy in the country.
Speaking in Abuja when the organization presented an award to the Managing Director, TILT Group/Habeeb Okunola foundation, Alh. Habeeb Okunola, she said most domestic workers find it hard to afford basic needs such as food, transportation amongst others due to the inflation in the country and the poor wages they get.
She lamented that some households or organisations pay domestic workers stipends of 10 to 15 thousand naira hence, making it difficult to cope with the average living cost.
Ogbonnaya said the organization aims to join the present administration in lifting 100 million people out of poverty as it’s mandate was to go into the grassroot, pick people who are ready to do domestic jobs, train them for the jobs and get them jobs.

She said the platform was across all the states of the country as they hope to access people from the 774 local governments of the country.
