The African Leadership Strategy and Transparency Development Initiative (ALSTDI) has urged the federal government to include Federal Cooperative Colleges in the Tertiary Education Trust Fund.
This is as it commended the provost and management of the Federal Cooperative College, Oji River (FCCOJIRIVER), Enugu State, for its innovative manpower training that has lifted over 3000 Nigerians out of poverty.
The CSO also lauded the President Bola Tinubu-led administration for placing priority on manpower training and development.
In a statement, the Executive Director of the organization, Amb. Nelson Ossaieze, called on the federal government to increase the funding of Federal Cooperative Colleges across the country, “in order for them to take the training to the grass root as Federal Cooperative College Oji is presently doing.”
ALSTDI observed “several projects executed by the Federal Cooperative College Oji and the beneficiaries of this projects are market women and artisans which are classical example of micro empowerment programs for the government to consider.”
The CSO commended FCCOJIRIVER for lifting low cadre Nigerians out of poverty through its cooperative community engagement programs than most humanitarian and empowerment agencies.
