Former Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri has congratulated Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima on their inauguration as the President and Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In his congratulatory message, Lokpobiri described the new President as a “politician of conviction who never wavered in projecting the quality democratic ideals that stood great nations out”.

He lauded Tinubu for what he said “was his indispensable role in sustaining our democracy by remaining in the opposition during the most daunting periods”.

He said it was a deserving honour that President Tinubu would now benefit from his many sacrifices and toils to strengthen Nigeria’s democracy.

Lokpobiri, who once served as a Senator for Bayelsa West, also expressed his optimism that the President would bring his rich experience to bear as one of the longest Nigeria’s politicians to remain relevant in the scheme of things.

Describing Tinubu’s inauguration as a breath of fresh air, the Bayelsa born APC chieftain said he has no doubt that the President’s impressive knowledge of economy re-engineering, will be reintroduced to reinvigorate Nigeria’s economy.

Lokpobiri also congratulated the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, his former colleague, saying she possesses great leadership potentials and wherewithal to support the President to succeed in leading Nigeria to greatness.
