David Inalegwu of the Henry Seriake Dickson Golf and Country Club in Bayelsa emerged victorious at the 16th IBB Junior Open Golf Championship, held in Abuja.
The three-day event, organized by the IBB Lady Golf Section under the leadership of Dame Julie Donli, began on Friday at the IBB International Golf and Country Club (IBBIGCC) and attracted over 146 junior golfers from across Nigeria.
Inalegwu, 18, delivered an impressive performance, leading the tournament with a total gross of 223 over 54 holes, shooting rounds of 74, 71, and 78. His victory was particularly sweet, as he had previously finished fourth and second in the 14th and 15th editions of the championship.
In the Boys 15-18 age category, David James claimed the top spot with a gross of 231, surpassing Nandom Danjuma of Plateau Golf Academy and Robert Festus. Destiny Oyero of Ikeja Golf Club won the Boys 11-14 age category with a score of 242, narrowly beating Unah Ogoh and Matthew Ayi.

Deborah Dung of Plateau Golf Academy dominated the Girls 15-18 age category with a gross score of 277, while her academy mates Blessing Adah and Beatrice Onoja took second and third place.
In the Girls 11-14 category, Josephine Benjamin of IBB International Golf and Country Club triumphed with a score of 225, with Omowonuola Olarenwaju and Jennifer Akatu finishing second and third.
