Acting Commissioner of Police Edgal Imohimi has formally assumed office as the Lagos State police chief.
He took office from Commissioner of Police Fatai Owoseni during a ceremony at the state command headquarters, Ikeja, about 3.30 pm yesterday.
This followed a statement by the police earlier yesterday, confirming Owoseni’s redeployment as the commissioner of Police in charge of Administration at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, said, “The Inspector General of Police Ibrahim. K Idris has ordered the posting of acting Compol Imohimi D. Edgal, to Lagos state police command as the new Commissioner of Police. Ag/CP Edgal Imohimi has taken over and resumed in official capacity as the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command with immediate effect.”
