A retired Chief Judge of Imo State and a late Secretary to Imo State government (names not disclosed) were among those involved in pension scam in the state to the tune of N330 million.
While the retired judge was earning N300,000 monthly above what was due to him as a pension, the late SSG was still earning pension many years after his death.

Governor Hope Uzodimma, who made good his threat to expose those involved in the fraud, gave the names of other indicted persons as Ajokubi H. A (N65, 685, 491. 00); Njoku Damian (N 5,042,439.58); Obasi Canice (N 3, 460, 366.64); Anyanwu F. N (N150, 336. 00); Emenalo Theresa (N 3,058, 592.00); John Sunday (N 2,320624. 00) and Ajaegbo E. O (N2, 298,910.34).
Uzodimma said the eight persons were earning pensions totaling N330m yearly.
He emphasised that so much irregularity had marred the pension system, forcing him to investigate further into the payroll of retired workers.
He said the investigation revealed that over 1000 pensioners who retired in 1976 were still receiving the pension.
