Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Comrade Kenneth Emelu disclosed this to sports writers in Owerri, saying this bring to 50% of t5he sign-on fees so far released to club after the initial 10% was earlier released to the club.
The Commissioner flanked at the briefing by the Chairman of the Club Mr. Fan Ndubuoke and the MD ISOPADEC Mr. Henry Okafore hinted that the amount released was in fulfilment of a promise he personally made to the players recently.
Emelu equally announced the increase in the monthly subvention of the club above N8m, stressing that the moment the club conclude their recruitment of new players and they settle down for the season, the current subvention to the club would be made public.
He assured that the new subvention would provide enough money on a monthly basis for the full payment of enhanced players’ and officials’ emoluments, as well as caters for the prosecution of all the club’s league matches for the season.
He said: “as I am talking to you now, the funds for the above have been paid into Heartland bank account”.
