Voting has commenced in the rescheduled All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election.
The APC electoral committee arrived Imo state yesterday and immediately addressed the aspirants where they were intimated with the guidelines for the election.
The exercise is coming after the cancellation of the results of Ahmed Gulak led committee. The new committee is led by Ibrahim Agbabiaka. There was tight security at the venues of the congresses all over the state.
At the Eziama Obaire ward where the APC aspirant, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu voted, there was a massive turn out of members of the party who lined up and voted.
Announcing the results from the Ward, the Returning Officer, Festus Ezeama, said the Nwosu scored 4815, while Hope Uzodinma scored zero. Other contestants, Eze Madumere scored zero, while Jude Ejiogu and Chima Anozie also scored zero respectively. They were all represented by their agents.
Speaking after voting, Nwosu commended the conduct of the election.
He said that the direct mode has turned out to be a blessing in disguise, adding that APC is the party to beat in the state.
Nwosu expressed confidence that he will come out tops at the end of the exercise.
