Immigrations repatriate 44 over invalid papers

The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has confirmed the repatriation of 44 immigrants over invalid documents.

The Comptroller in the state, Aliyu Malik, who disclosed the development to newsmen yesterday in Lafia, said the command recently arrested 59 immigrants on suspicion that they had fake documents.

Malik explained that after screening and investigations, only 14 were certified to have valid documents such as resident permit among others, adding that the remaining 44, most of who are nationals of Niger Republic have been repatriated to their country.
